i have a feeling its not that simple, i can tackle anything aside from welding, i know you probably have to weld the rear fender and possibly the oil tank, is there any other welding involved? Is it just a straight conversion? i mean can you just take the engine and everything and pop it on one of their frames? i'm a broke ass college student so i need to use the donor bike for the VAST majority of parts. I know there is a search bar and I've used it a lot before finally joining your forum.I've decided to pop my '97 sportster 1200xlh on a paughco frame, i was wondering if perhaps anyone else here has done this. All that with a set of mini apes, forward controls and a Frisco tank and I think I'm set.Īny insight or advise is appreciated. I'm guessing I'd have to add a little rake to the front forks. Can you even lower a 83-03 4"? Also want to do a springer front end lowered the same as the rear so the bike doesn't look so high in the front. A 4" stretch for sure, maybe a 4" drop and definitely a 200mm rear tire, which I can't find a hard tail kit like that for a 83-03 frame only for a 70's. I want to make it a hard tail with a weld in kit that replaces the tranny mount tube. I want it bare bones, wouldn't mind a kick start and mag if it's even possible. I think I want a 1200 Evo sportster, like an 83-03 because they seem plentiful in my area. And I guess it'll be more of a bobber than a chopper. Just need help with which sportster year and model would suit my build. BUT! I know exactly how I want to build it.

And when I say about to, I mean I'm still researching which year sportster I should get.
